Afsou Travels

Booking Conditions

Last updated 19 September 2026

These booking conditions set out the agreement between you and Afsou Travels when you book a private tour, trek or tailor made journey with us. Please read them before you confirm. If anything is unclear, ask us and we will explain it in writing before you pay anything.

1. Who you are booking with

Your trip is arranged by Afsou Travels, a Morocco based tour operator. Every journey we sell is private and built to order, which means the itinerary, the vehicle, the guide and the accommodation are reserved specifically for your party.

The person who makes the booking is the lead traveller. They confirm that they are authorised to accept these conditions on behalf of everyone named on the booking, and they are responsible for passing on what we send.

2. Quotation and confirmation

Every quotation we issue is tailor made and is valid for 14 days unless we state otherwise in writing. Until you accept it and we receive the deposit, nothing is held and prices can change if a supplier changes theirs.

Your booking is confirmed, and the agreement between us begins, on the day we receive your deposit and send you a written confirmation. That confirmation, together with the final itinerary and these conditions, is the whole of the agreement between us.

3. Payment

WhenWhat is due
On booking25% of the total price, as a deposit
40 days before your arrival dateThe remaining balance
Booking made less than 40 days before arrivalThe full amount, at the time of booking

The deposit is what allows us to reserve your riads, camps, guides and vehicles. We pay those suppliers in advance on your behalf, which is why the cancellation terms below are structured the way they are.

If the balance has not reached us by the due date, we will contact you before taking any action. If it remains unpaid after that, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and the cancellation terms in section 5 will apply.

Prices are quoted in the currency shown on your quotation. Any bank charges, card fees or currency conversion costs applied by your own bank are yours to pay.

4. Postponing your trip

Life interrupts travel plans, and we would far rather move your journey than lose it. If you need to postpone, tell us as soon as you can and we will hold everything you have paid.

Money you have already paid is held and kept secure. It stays credited to you until you are ready to choose new dates. There is no deadline by which you must decide, and postponing does not cost you your deposit.

Two practical points. If the new dates fall in a higher season, or a supplier has raised its rates since you booked, we will show you the difference in writing before you commit. And where a specific supplier will not release a payment we have already made on your behalf, we will tell you which one and how much, rather than absorbing it silently into the new price.

5. If you cancel

Cancellations must be sent to us in writing, by email to info@afsoutravels.com. The date we receive that email is the date the cancellation takes effect.

Notice given before your arrival dateWhat you receive
More than 60 daysFull refund of your deposit
60 to 31 daysThe deposit is non-refundable. Anything you have paid above the deposit is refunded in full
30 to 16 days50% of the total price is refunded
15 days or fewerNo refund. By this point we have paid your suppliers in full

These bands exist because of when money leaves our hands, not as a penalty. Close to departure, the riads, camps, guides and drivers reserved for you have already been paid and will not release those funds.

Refunds are made to the account the payment came from, within 14 days of the cancellation being confirmed. If only part of your party cancels, the price for the remaining travellers may change, because the cost of a private vehicle, guide and driver is shared between the group.

If you do not arrive, or you leave the trip part way through, no refund is due for any part of the journey you do not take.

6. If we change or cancel

We build your itinerary months ahead, and occasionally something has to move. Small adjustments happen: a different riad of the same standard, a drive taken in the opposite direction, a market visited on a different day. We will tell you about changes like these and they do not entitle you to a refund.

If we have to make a significant change to your itinerary, such as altering the main destinations or lowering the standard of accommodation, you may accept the change, accept an alternative trip we offer, or cancel and receive a full refund of everything you have paid us.

We will only cancel your trip outright if we have no reasonable alternative. If that happens through no fault of yours, you will receive a full refund of everything paid to us.

7. Circumstances beyond our control

Some things are outside anyone’s control: extreme weather, flooding or snow closing a mountain pass, fire, earthquake, epidemic, civil unrest, strikes, border or airport closures, or an official instruction not to travel to a particular area.

Where one of these prevents part of your journey, we will reroute you and keep the trip as close to what you booked as we safely can. Where it prevents the trip entirely, we will offer you postponement on the terms in section 4, and refund whatever we are able to recover from suppliers. We cannot refund money that a supplier has already taken and will not return, and we are not liable for costs you incur separately, such as flights.

8. Travel insurance

We strongly advise every traveller to hold comprehensive travel insurance from an independent third party insurer, arranged at the time you book. Afsou Travels is not an insurer and does not sell insurance.

Your policy should cover, as a minimum, medical treatment and hospital costs abroad, emergency evacuation and repatriation, cancellation and curtailment, personal liability, and your baggage and valuables.

If your itinerary includes trekking, mountain walking, camel riding, quad biking, or any activity at altitude, check that your policy covers it by name. Many standard policies exclude trekking above a stated altitude, and our Toubkal, M’Goun, Saghro and Siroua routes all go well above the common limits.

Insurance is also the right answer to the risk these booking conditions cannot cover. If you have to cancel late for a reason that is genuine but personal, such as illness in your family, a good policy refunds what we cannot.

9. Passports, visas and health

You are responsible for holding a valid passport, any visa your nationality requires, and any vaccinations or health documents needed for Morocco. Requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time, so check with the Moroccan embassy or consulate for your country before you travel.

Most passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry. We cannot refund a trip missed because of a document problem, and we cannot be held responsible for a border decision.

10. Special requirements

Tell us at the time of booking about anything that affects how we should plan: dietary requirements, allergies, reduced mobility, a medical condition, travelling while pregnant, or the ages of any children in your party. We will tell you honestly whether an itinerary suits you and adjust it where we can.

We would rather redesign a trip than watch a traveller struggle through one that was never right for them.

11. During your journey

Please follow the reasonable instructions of your guide and driver, particularly in the mountains and the desert, where local judgement about weather, road conditions and safety is not negotiable.

Morocco is a country with its own customs, and modest dress in religious places and rural villages is appreciated. Your guide will tell you what is expected, without fuss, wherever it matters.

If your behaviour puts other travellers, our staff or local people at risk, we may end your participation in the trip. No refund is due in that case.

12. If something goes wrong

Tell your guide, driver or the office at the time. Almost everything that goes wrong on a private trip can be fixed the same day, and it can almost never be fixed after you have gone home.

If the matter is not resolved on the ground, write to us at info@afsoutravels.com within 28 days of returning. We will acknowledge your message within 7 days and give you a full answer within 28 days.

13. Our responsibility

We accept responsibility for arranging your journey with reasonable skill and care, and for the services we have agreed to provide.

We are not responsible for services you arrange yourself and we have not booked for you, including international flights, nor for loss or injury caused by something neither we nor our suppliers could have foreseen or prevented. Our liability is limited to the total price you paid us for the trip, except where the law does not permit such a limit, such as in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

14. Governing law

These conditions are governed by the law of the Kingdom of Morocco, and any dispute arising from them falls to the Moroccan courts. Nothing here removes a right you hold under the consumer law of your own country.

15. Talk to us

If any part of this is unclear, ask before you book rather than after. We would rather spend ten minutes on a question now than have you discover something at the wrong moment.
